How difficult is the installation? Do I need professional help?
Installation is very straightforward and takes about 10-15 minutes. The package includes everything you need: suction mount for the windshield, car power adapter, and rear camera with 6-meter cable. Simply mount the main unit on your windshield, route the rear camera cable to your back window, and plug into your 12V car outlet. No professional installation required, though we do offer a hardwire kit if you want a permanent, wire-free setup. The user manual includes step-by-step photos.
How long does the 128GB card record before it starts overwriting?
How long does the 128GB card record before it starts overwriting?
With 1080P Full HD recording on both front and rear cameras, a 128GB microSD card provides approximately 8 hours of continuous footage. The loop recording feature automatically overwrites the oldest files when the card is full, so you never have to manually delete anything. Important clips are protected automatically through the G-sensor (motion detection) which locks footage during incidents to prevent overwriting.
Does it really work at night, or will the footage be too dark?
Does it really work at night, or will the footage be too dark?
Yes! The IGN Essential uses enhanced imaging sensors specifically designed for low-light conditions. It captures clear, usable footage even during late-night drives or in poorly lit parking areas. While it won't be as bright as daytime footage, license plates and important details are still clearly visible. Many customers report being surprised by how well it performs in darkness compared to their expectations.
Does this record when my car is parked and turned off?
Does this record when my car is parked and turned off?
The IGN Essential can record while parked if you use the hardwire kit (sold separately or with certain packages). In standard setup with the car charger, it only records when the vehicle is running. The motion detection feature activates recording when movement or impact is detected near your vehicle, protecting against hit-and-runs and vandalism. Battery drain is minimal with the hardwire kit properly installed.

The IGN Essential has a built-in 3-inch touch screen that lets you review footage instantly right on the dashcam - no phone or computer needed. You can lock important clips, navigate through recordings, and adjust settings all with simple touch gestures. If you want to save clips to your computer, simply remove the microSD card and insert it into your computer's card reader. The files are standard MP4 format that play on any device.

How wide is the rear camera's field of view?
The rear camera provides 140° field of view coverage, which is perfect for capturing vehicles approaching from behind, rear-end collisions, and backing incidents. Combined with the front camera's 170° view, you get comprehensive dual-channel protection covering the entire front and rear of your vehicle. The rear camera cable is 6 meters (20 feet) long, which is sufficient for most sedans, SUVs, and trucks.
